A Life-Changing Experience

So, I spend an hour and a half of my time after school today to read My Little Dashie. I don't want to give anything away, but I have never cried like that in my life. In all honesty, I don't cry that often at all. The last time I vaguely remember crying was when we left a family gathering a year ago. It was a moving story, and I fell changed by it. So if you have free time, I would suggest reading it. It will change your life for the better.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

There has been plenty of discussion about this story here. I, for one, was not moved at all. It was actually a pretty silly story.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

It was nice the first time. But in the grand scheme of things, there are so many stories that are so much better.

I clicked on this thread hoping for a "Life-Changing Experience", and all I got was a recommendation for the Bronies version of Twilight.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

It definitely changed my life for the worse.

Though meeting the author is cool. He's a very down-to-earth kinda guy.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

It was OK.  Not bad, and a bit interesting, but I thought it was pretty forced at times.  I didn't cry, unlike some other stories.

Fallout: Equestria & Fallout Equestria: Project Horizons - Really really good and along with G4 & G1 re-inspired me after a rather dark, depressing, and lonely funk I had fallen into.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

The only remotely "life-changing" story on the internet I've ever read is The Metamorphosis of Prime Intellect. It somehow combines an incredibly neat sci-fi Singularity concept with extremely lurid sadomasochistic porn and manages to tell a fascinating and coherent story. It raises a lot of intriguing questions about computer programming, AI, and human behavior and morality in general, and it definitely helped shape my philosophy on life.

Oh and the pornographic bits are pretty hot too. tongue

I haven't read a fanfic of MLP before, and the story just made me want to go bid on a Rainbow Dash plushie or go buy one... I really want one now XD

Go to Equestria Daily...

Wait, no, I'll link it for you.

http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/09/e … l?c=star-5

Or click the star-6 tag if you want fewer choices to start with.

Then read.

This is (theoretically) the best that the fandom has to offer. It will give you some perspective on what to expect.

Agreed, this is pretty much the best way to find quality fanfiction, and if you really want to cry manly tears I recommend A Summer Twilight or Today, Tomorrow, and Forever.

There's a ton of bronies over on 4chan who know next to nothing about Equestria Daily as well. This fandom's ability to exist in so many different places on the internet entirely separately from one another perpetually amazes me.

This.

It's one thing if you don't know about a forum, even one that should be obvious like this one, but EQD basically IS the fandom. Though newness is forgiveable.

Re: A Life-Changing Experience

Yeah, I've heard that EQD was practically the creator for the fandom, when everyone in forums everywhere were getting banned for posting ponies.
